2009 WORKSHOPS
July 27-31/Ages: 13 & up
Join us for an exciting week in August as we offer a variety of workshops for young people. The week will also include a performance of our summer Black Box Theatre production, and will culminate in a Saturday night performance by some of our Center Stage alumni and workshop participants. This is our major fund raising event this year for the Muller Theatre so we hope you will be able to participate in any way possible.
MUSIC THEATRE offered by Cara Statham-Serber …Students will perform at Friday’s show and the workshop will be a comprehensive focus on professional music theatre preparation, production, and performance. Participants staying through the lunch hour to participate in another workshop need to bring a sack lunch.
CHOREOGRAPHY FOR THE STAGE offered by Joice Passos...A multi-level dance workshop that will help prepare the actor for musical theatre auditions and performance. Participants will perform during Friday’s presentation. Participants staying through the lunch hour to participate in another workshop need to bring a sack lunch.
AUDITIONING FOR THE STAGE offered by Cara Statham-Serber…Students will learn basic principals and helpful hints for a successful audition from choosing the right audition material to presenting it, and preparing a resume Participants staying through the lunch hour to participate in another workshop need to bring a sack lunch.
BROADCASTING offered by John Bazzelle with guest Stephanie Bergman from KSN Channel 3…Students will be introduced to the world of Broadcasting by two people who have worked in the industry. They will also write, film, & edit a short TV commercial & News Story which will be presented at Saturday’s Workshop Presentation. Lunch will be provided.
AUDITIONING FOR TELEVISION COMMERCIALS offered by Greg Boaldin…Participants will receive valuable information on preparing for and delivering successful commercial auditions from a professional talent scout who has discovered many performers who have worked on Broadway, appeared in national magazines, worked on top rated TV shows, and appeared in national commercials.
